Our church
A place for encounter and inspiration
Welcome to the
Walloon Church
The Hague
A vibrant and inclusive Protestant community with a rich history!
For hundreds of years, the Walloon Church in The Hague has been a familiar beacon in the Dutch religious and cultural landscape. As the living heritage of the Huguenots – French Protestants who fled to the Netherlands beginning in the 16th century – we contribute to the story of religious tolerance, international connection and cultural exchange.
Today we are above all: an open, vibrant community where everyone can feel welcome. Whether you are Protestant, seeking, or just curious – with us you will find a warm place without barriers.
Our francophone services, international composition and open attitude make us a unique piece of the Netherlands – where history and current events go hand in hand. Our community consists of Francophones from all over the world, each with their own background, spirituality and story.
Come discover it for yourself!
Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. you are welcome to an inspiring French-language service, followed by our cozy café fraternel – coffee with something sweet, and space for in-depth conversations about faith and philosophy, as well as spontaneous encounters and sharing of stories.
Don’t speak French very well? No problem. Our visitors speak multiple languages.
The services are also streamed live.

For more than 200 years, the Walloon Church has stood on Noordeinde in The Hague. But the church has its origins in the former Hofkapel at the Binnenhof, where the French Protestants held their church services from 1585 to 1806.
