Our church
A place for encounter and inspiration
Time for
Rest and contemplation
The Walloon Church is part of the Protestant Church Netherlands (PKN) and holds a French-speaking church service every Sunday.
Our church is a place for meeting and is open to all. Our community is largely made up of French speakers from different countries and with different traditions and religious orientations.
Our visitors each have their own reasons for attending our church on Sundays. For example, because, they enjoy the beautiful organ playing, find the light soothing or just love the French language. Another comes because of the connection with the Huguenots or because of the philosophical – but mostly convivial – conversations over the cup of coffee (café fraternel) after the service.

Church on Sunday
There is a church service every Sunday at 10.30am. The service is held in French, but is sometimes bilingual (French/Dutch). Afterwards, there will be space and time for a cup of coffee where French, Dutch and English will all be spoken.
The services are also streamed live.

History of the Walloon Church
For more than 200 years, the Walloon Church has stood on Noordeinde in The Hague. But the church has its origins in the former Hofkapel at the Binnenhof, where the French Protestants held their church services from 1585 to 1806.
